Building an outdoor fireplace can be a reasonably easy task or a reasonably difficult task depending on what your goals are. There are many options that should be considered before starting the project.

The first option is to build your fireplace attached to your home. This is the most complicated and most costly. Until you finish the project parts of your home will be exposed to the elements outside.
Option 2
While some might want to build a fireplace that is attached to the back of their house maybe even with a chimney, many don't go that route for their backyard fireplaces.

Regardless what you are going to build for your fireplace, you need to get a frame kits for all non wood burning fireplaces. Frame kits are essentially the core of the fireplace. They come in the shape you want and have essentials like the igniter. These are best for the do-it-yourselfers who want to build their own stone or brick exteriors. You don't have to worry about the mechanics of the fireplace while getting the benefit of building the stone outer shell yourself.
